Transflective Display Technology
Transflective displays are a type of LCD that feature a built-in reflective layer, allowing ambient light—like sunlight—to enhance screen visibility without full reliance on a backlight. Since backlights are among the most power-consuming components, this design greatly improves energy efficiency. As a result, transflective displays are well-suited for battery-powered devices used in outdoor environments.
Advantages:
- Highly viewable under direct sunlight
- Ultra Lower Power TFT display (0.33mW for 4.4” @ 1Hz)
- Dynamic refresh rate is available ( 1Hz~30Hz)
- Capable to display video playback
Limitations:
- 200 PPI or lower
- Temperature range -20 to 70C
